A 1:1 hour-long therapeutic container. It is a body-based trauma therapy developed to resolve stuck energy by helping the nervous system complete interrupted fight/flight/freeze responses.
The pace of the sessions is slow, moving at the speed of the client’s system.

The Goal is to restore your body to a regulated nervous system.
Trauma = stuck survival energy.
An event occurred too quickly for the system to process. As a result, an incomplete response to what happened is stored in the body, seeking completion. Examples of stuck energy: repeated thought patterns, recurring pain or discomfort in the body, unknown fear or anxiety arising, etc. We work together to unpack what was missing and help the body complete an action it didn't get to. With enough consistency, this modality can cause symptoms to subside completely.
This modality can be extremely helpful to folks with complex Trauma, as it helps metabolize and recalibrate at the nervous system level.

Talk therapy is a top-down approach: processing thoughts, emotions, and narratives with the mind and insight.
Body-led Healing Sessions use a bottom-up approach: starting with the felt sense and focusing on the nervous system plus bodily sensation. We move away from getting caught in a narrative and gaining insight, and instead go deeper into how this narrative could be affecting the physical body.
Talk therapy assumes:
“If I understand it, I can change it.”Talk therapy updates the software.
Body-led Healing assumes:
“If my body feels safe, change will follow.”Body-led healing rewires the hardware.

Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing is a 1:1 therapeutic session that supports the completion of self-protective responses and the release of energy stored in the body after stress or Trauma. Through gentle guidance and awareness of bodily sensations, this method helps restore balance, resilience, and presence to the nervous system, for even more.

Sessions range from $75 - $150/hr. Body-led healing moves at the pace of your unique nervous system and unfolds slowly and deliberately. It takes time to build safety and a relationship with sensation. My desire is for these sessions to feel affordable so you can commit to doing a series.
